The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has categorically denied cheating allegations in the recent police constable recruitment exam as “unverified,” cautioning that legal action will be taken against those circulating false information.

The exam, conducted on June  15 with the help of the district administration, was held under “strict security protocols”, including CCTV surveillance, frisking, and standard operating procedures at all centres, the Commission said in a statement on Saturday.

Rumours of cheating and copying circulated widely on social media platforms after the answer key was uploaded. However, the HPPSC said no official complaints or reports had been received from district officials or examination supervisors.  The Commission also reviewed CCTV footage from centres where candidates had alleged irregularities but found “no evidence” to support the claims. “The Commission strongly condemns the dissemination of misinformation on social media,” the statement said, adding that appropriate legal action would be taken against anyone found spreading false information.

It further urged candidates with genuine grievances to approach the Commission directly. “All such issues shall be thoroughly enquired into and action as warranted shall be initiated,” the note assured.

The HPPSC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability, and said any attempt to malign the institution would be dealt with strictly, as per law.
