New Delhi, November 11
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday assured the nation that those responsible for the deadly blasts in Delhi will be brought to justice and “no one will be spared under any circumstances.” Speaking during his address in Bhutan, Modi said he shared the pain of the victims’ families and had been in constant touch with investigating agencies since the incident. “I came here with a heavy heart. I understand the pain of the families who lost their loved ones in the Delhi blast. The entire country stands with them. Our investigating agencies will unearth the truth and expose all those behind this act,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi, currently on a two-day visit to Bhutan from November 11 to 12, is attending events marking the 70th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth King of Bhutan. “Today is an important day for Bhutan. India and Bhutan have always shared close ties. My presence here is not only India’s commitment but my personal commitment to our enduring friendship,” he said.
Highlighting shared spiritual and cultural bonds, Modi noted the exposition of the Sacred Piprahwa Relics of Lord Buddha from India during Bhutan’s Global Peace Prayer Festival as a symbol of “deep-rooted civilisational ties.”
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the Punatsangchhu-II hydropower project, which he described as a “major milestone in the successful India–Bhutan energy partnership.”
“I look forward to meeting His Majesty the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth King, and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. I am confident that my visit will deepen our friendship and strengthen our joint efforts for progress and prosperity,” Modi said in his departure statement.
India and Bhutan’s relations, anchored in trust and mutual respect, remain a key pillar of New Delhi’s Neighbourhood First Policy, often cited as a model for friendly cooperation between neighbouring nations.
