PM Modi to visit five states from Sept 13 to 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal and Bihar from  September 13 to 15, where he will  inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than ₹72,000 crore. On September 13, Modi will visit Mizoram to launch development projects valued at over ₹9,000 crore in Aizawl. These include the Bairabi–Sairang rail line, worth ₹8,070 crore, which will connect the Mizoram capital to the national railway network for the first time. The project involved the construction of 45 tunnels, 55 major bridges and 88 minor bridges. The Prime Minister will also flag off three new trains linking Aizawl with Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati.

In addition, he will lay the foundation stone of key road projects such as the ₹500 crore Aizawl bypass and the Thenzawl–Sialsuk and Khankawn–Rongura roads, along with the Chhimtuipui River Bridge. Other projects include an LPG bottling plant at Mualkhang, new sports infrastructure under Khelo India, and two residential schools to improve access to education. Later in the day, he will travel to Manipur, where he will lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹7,300 crore in Churachandpur, and inaugurate works worth ₹1,200 crore in Imphal.

In Assam, Modi will attend celebrations marking the centenary of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati. The next day, he will launch projects worth over ₹18,500 crore in Darrang and Golaghat, including a bio-ethanol plant and a polypropylene facility at Numaligarh refinery.

On 15 September, the prime minister will inaugurate the Combined Commanders’ Conference in Kolkata before travelling to Bihar, where he will open the new Purnea airport terminal. He is also set to announce projects worth around ₹36,000 crore, including the launch of the National Makhana Board.
