Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 59th All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police, taking place from November 30 to December 1 at Bhubaneswar in Odisha. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and other senior officials, including state DGPs and heads of central police organisations, will also participate in the conference.

The three-day conference, which began on November 29, focuses on national security topics such as counter-terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security, narcotics control, and new criminal laws. A key highlight will be the presentation of the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.

The event serves as a platform for senior police officials to deliberate on challenges in crime control, law and order management, and internal security. Discussions will also address police infrastructure and welfare issues, fostering the exchange of best practices. Known for his keen interest in the conference, Modi actively participates in its discussions, fostering open dialogue and encouraging innovative ideas. This year, the agenda includes yoga sessions, breakout discussions, and thematic dining experiences to enhance engagement.

Since 2014, the conference has been held across various states to ensure wider participation and regional representation. Previous venues include Guwahati, Hyderabad, and the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
