Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the concluding session of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 on January 12 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking National Youth Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event, scheduled to begin around 4:30 pm, will bring together about 3,000 young participants from across India, alongside youth representatives from the Indian diaspora. Selected finalists will present their ideas directly to the prime minister across ten thematic tracks, offering youth-led perspectives and practical proposals on national priorities.

During the programme, Modi is expected to release an essay compilation featuring selected writings by young participants, focused on India’s development agenda and long-term nation-building goals. Now in its second edition, the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue is designed as a national platform for structured engagement between young people and the country’s leadership. It follows the prime minister’s Independence Day call to involve one lakh young citizens in public life, without political affiliations, and to give them a national मंच to contribute ideas for a developed India.

The 2026 edition, being held from 9 to 12 January, has seen participation from more than five million young people nationwide. Those reaching the national-level championship were chosen through a three-stage, merit-based process involving a nationwide digital quiz, an essay challenge and state-level vision presentations.

Organisers say the second edition builds on the inaugural programme with new initiatives such as Design for Bharat and Tech for Viksit Bharat – Hack for a Social Cause, along with wider thematic engagement and international participation for the first time.

The concluding session will be held at Bharat Mandapam.
