Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the success of Operation Sindoor, a military action that he said demonstrated India’s growing defence capabilities and resolve against terrorism. While addressing the press before Monsoon Session, Prime Minister said the operation had “completely neutralised the masterminds of terror” inside enemy territory using domestically manufactured defence equipment. The mission, carried out by Indian armed forces, was “100% successful,” he said, hailing the precision and efficiency of the country’s military personnel.
The Prime Minister also referred to the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, calling it a “brutal massacre” that shocked the international community. “It brought global attention to terrorism and its epicentre,” he said, in an apparent reference to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Modi noted that, in the aftermath of the attack, all political parties came together across ideological divides to confront the threat. He said inter-party delegations travelled to world capitals to expose Pakistan’s alleged role in fostering terrorism, branding it as “the father of terrorism.”
Referring to India’s long fight against internal threats, the Prime Minister said the country has faced both terrorism and left-wing extremism, but has emerged stronger. “The influence of Naxalism and Maoism is shrinking rapidly. The red corridors are turning into green zones of growth and development,” he said.
“The Constitution now prevails over bombs and guns,” he added, suggesting that the Indian state’s authority has expanded into areas once dominated by armed insurgents.
