Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, paid tribute to the country’s soldiers on Vijay Diwas, commemorating their sacrifices in India’s historic 1971 victory. “Today, on Vijay Diwas, we honour the courage and sacrifices of the brave soldiers who contributed to India’s historic victory in 1971,” Modi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He described the day as a tribute to the soldiers’ extraordinary valour and unshakable spirit, noting that their sacrifices will inspire future generations and remain etched in the nation’s history.
