PGIMER Haematology Shines at National and Global Medical Meets

The Department of Haematology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has earned top honours at both national and international medical conferences, marking a major achievement for the institution’s researchers and clinicians. At Hematocon 2025 held in Lucknow, Dr Sreejesh S, Additional Professor, received the Dr K.C. Das Memorial Award 2025 for the best original study published in the field of laboratory haematology. Dr Namrata Kaul was awarded the Best DM Dissertation Award, while Dr Sananda Kumar, Dr Paras, and Dr Aparna won the National DM Haematology Quiz, recognising their strong clinical and laboratory acumen.

Among other laureates, Nidhi received the Best Oral Presentation Award, and Dr Shimreeth Hannah won the Best Poster Award in the malignant haematology category. On the international stage, Dr Shivani Bansal secured the First Prize for Oral Presentation at AP-IAP 2025 in Bangkok. At the 17th TCS Annual Conference in Kolkata, Dr Rakshita Acharya earned the Best Oral Presentation Award, while Dr Meenakumari S was honoured with a Travel Award. The multiple recognitions underscore PGIMER’s growing leadership in haematology research and its continuing contribution to global advancements in blood disorders and clinical diagnostics.
