The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) confirmed on Wednesday that the post-mortem examination of Haryana Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Y. Puran Kumar was carried out by a duly constituted Medical Board, following all legal and medical procedures. An official spokesperson of PGIMER said the post-mortem report will be submitted to the Investigating Officer of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The mortal remains of the senior police officer have been handed over to his family with full respect.
The mortal remains of Y Puran Kumar were cremated here on Wednesday, nine days after he died by suicide. His body, dressed in uniform, was placed at his residence before being taken to the Sector 25 cremation ground. His wife, two daughters, and close relatives, including his brother-in-law and AAP MLA Amit Rattan, were present to pay their last respects. Several senior officers and political leaders also attended the cremation.
