Panchkula, October 16

Nayab Singh Saini has been unanimously elected as the legislative party leader during a meeting convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Panchkula on Wednesday. The decision comes ahead of Saini’s swearing-in ceremony, set for October 17, where he will officially assume his new role as Haryana’s Chief Minister.

The meeting also focused on finalizing the composition of the Cabinet, ensuring diverse representation from various community groups to reflect Haryana’s demographic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Following his election, Saini expressed his gratitude, calling it an honor to serve Haryana’s 2.80 crore people. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, referring to him as “the world’s most popular leader,” and emphasized that development under the “double engine” government—at both central and state levels—would continue without pause.

Saini also extended his thanks to Union Home Minister Shah, Chief Minister Chouhan, and the BJP’s leadership for their support. He pledged to work for good governance, equality, and the welfare of the poor, assuring that the Haryana government will remain committed to serving its people. “I want to assure Prime Minister Modi and every Haryanavi that our government will work tirelessly to uplift the state,” Saini said.
