Bathinda, March 11
President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday emphasized that morality is the cornerstone of a meaningful life, asserting that being a good person is more important than achieving success. Speaking at the convocation of the Central University of Punjab in Bathinda, she urged students to prioritize long-term impact over immediate gains in their personal and professional choices.
Murmu encouraged students to embrace five essential qualities—curiosity, originality, morality, farsightedness, and spontaneity. She highlighted curiosity as a driving force for lifelong learning and originality as a means of establishing a unique identity.
The President also underscored the significance of spontaneity, describing it as encompassing authenticity, consistency, and a strong connection to one’s roots. Expressing confidence in the graduates, she said their actions would bring pride to their university, families, and the nation.
