Chandigarh/Ludhiana, April 14 — Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian highlighted the state government’s commitment to fulfilling Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of an inclusive society during the 134th birth anniversary celebrations of the Bharat Ratna awardee at CT University on Monday. Speaking as the Chief Guest, Mundian praised Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, justice, and education, stressing their importance in fostering a united and progressive society.
Mundian urged citizens to adopt Dr. Ambedkar’s principles, which he described as the pillars of a just and equitable nation. “Baba Sahib’s life embodies hope, resilience, and determination,” he said, calling for collective action to preserve and promote these values.
The Minister also emphasized the Punjab government’s proactive efforts under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to advance Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. He pointed out that for the first time in the state’s history, six Scheduled Caste (SC) ministers are part of the cabinet, reflecting a deep commitment to social inclusivity.
Additionally, Mundian announced the introduction of reservation in the Advocate General’s office and the streamlined distribution of the SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to ensure maximum benefits for eligible students. He also unveiled a comprehensive booklet detailing welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Minority Groups, reinforcing the government’s focus on empowering marginalized communities.
Prominent figures at the event included MLA Jagraon Sarabjeet Kaur Manuke, ADC Jagraon Kulpreet Singh, SDM Karandeep Singh, and other officials from CT University.
