The president of the Manali Hotelier Association, Roshan Thakur, has urged the authorities to deploy additional police personnel in the tourism town of Manali ahead of the upcoming summer season to ensure smooth traffic management and avoid inconvenience for visitors.
Speaking at a meeting organized by the association, Thakur also praised MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaud for raising the issue of illegal spas operating in Manali and the Kullu district in the state assembly. “This is commendable. Now it is the responsibility of the government and administration to ensure that these illegally running spas are shut down at the earliest,” he said.
The meeting discussed several key issues concerning Manali’s tourism, including cleanliness and urban management. Officials and hoteliers highlighted that garbage is scattered at various locations across the town, indicating a severe lapse in sanitation services.
Thakur emphasized that with the summer tourism season about to begin, steps must be taken to avoid traffic congestion and maintain smooth flow for both locals and tourists. “Deployment of additional police forces is essential to manage traffic effectively during the peak season and ensure tourists do not face any difficulties,” he added.
