Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded the recently concluded Mahakumbh in Prayagraj as a profound testament to India’s unity. He highlighted the festival’s ability to bring people together from all corners of the country, transcending differences in language, region, and status.

While addressing the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the sacred gathering embodied the essence of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” with devotees chanting “Har Har Gange” in unison at the Sangam. He noted that the festival’s spirit reinforced India’s hallmark of “unity in diversity,” an invaluable strength in a world marked by divisions.

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the people of Uttar Pradesh, particularly Prayagraj, for their role in organizing the grand event. Comparing the Mahakumbh’s meticulous planning to Bhagirath’s mythical effort to bring the Ganga to Earth, he reiterated his vision of “Sabka Prayas”—collective effort—as crucial to national progress.

Reflecting on India’s transformative journey, Modi drew parallels between the Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya and the Mahakumbh, calling them milestones in the nation’s resurgence. He linked the festival’s national consciousness to historical turning points, from Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address to the freedom struggle.

The Prime Minister also underscored the enthusiastic participation of India’s youth, noting their deep connection to cultural heritage. He urged the promotion of river festivals inspired by the Mahakumbh to raise awareness of water conservation and environmental responsibility.

Concluding his address, Modi expressed confidence that the inspiration drawn from the Mahakumbh would strengthen India’s resolve for future achievements, hailing the devotion and dedication of millions who took part in the festival.
