What happens when an action legend known for deadly serious roles trades punches for punchlines? You get The Naked Gun — a no-holds-barred spoof comedy starring Liam Neeson as an unlikely detective trying to fill some hilariously oversized shoes.
Paramount Pictures India has unveiled the trailer for the film, which arrives in Indian cinemas on August 1. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/OUCjvluYq6o
In this outrageous reboot of the cult comedy classic, Neeson plays Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., son of the iconic original character, now tasked with saving the world while barely keeping his badge intact. From exploding gags to over-the-top chases, The Naked Gun is packed with the kind of absurdity fans of the genre crave.
Joining Neeson on this madcap mission are Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston — a lineup that’s as eclectic as the film’s brand of humour.
The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer, known for his sharp comedy roots (SNL, Popstar), and produced by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, Ted) and Erica Huggins. The screenplay is by Schaffer, Dan Gregor, and Doug Mand.
Expect flying punches, ridiculous plot twists, and an action hero who might just be in over his head — and loving it.
