Srinagar, October 18  

The J & K Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, passed a resolution to reinstate statehood for Jammu and Kashmir . Officials familiar with the development revealed that CM Abdullah chaired the first Cabinet meeting of the new government yesterday at the civil secretariat, where the resolution for the restoration of statehood was approved.
