Ahead of Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar’s engagements, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to the U.S. Viney Mohan Kwatra held discussions with senior Biden administration officials, including Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma and Indo-Pacific Coordinator Kurt Campbell today.
Verma highlighted the meeting on social media, stating, “Great to welcome Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Ambassador to the U.S. Viney Mohan Kwatra back to the State Department, alongside Kurt Campbell. We look forward to continuing to grow U.S.-India ties rooted in mutual trust, shared values, and prosperity for all.”
During his 6 days visit, Jaishankar will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other senior officials to discuss critical issues such as trade, defense cooperation, and Indo-Pacific strategy. He will also chair a conference of Indian Consuls General in the U.S., focusing on strengthening diplomatic outreach and community engagement.
