External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said held extensive talks with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares on strengthening bilateral ties in areas including trade, investment, defense, security, urban development, railways, green hydrogen, climate action, and cultural exchanges. “India values Spain as a strong advocate of India-EU relations and a reliable Mediterranean partner,” he said, noting agreements signed on sports and sustainable urban development.
The ministers also discussed cooperation in multilateral platforms like the UN, G20, Mediterranean, and Indo-Pacific, along with regional developments in Ukraine, West Asia, and beyond. As India and Spain plan to celebrate 2026 as the Year of Culture, Tourism, and AI, the ministers emphasized that ongoing exchanges in 2025 will create new momentum for collaboration.
