Punjab’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian has directed officials to carry out a special girdawari (crop damage survey) in flood-affected areas of the state. The minister said the survey must begin as soon as water levels recede, with Deputy Commissioners instructed to prepare compensation cases using the prescribed format and submit them without delay.

Mundian emphasised that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government was committed to protecting farmers’ interests, promising the process would be transparent and strictly monitored to ensure no eligible cultivator was excluded. He added that the state administration would “stand shoulder-to-shoulder” with farmers during the crisis and provide timely financial relief to ease their hardships.
