Punjab Police have apprehended three associates of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang after an encounter with Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Thursday. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav detailed that the police team returned fire in self-defense during which a 15-round exchange. One suspect sustained critical injuries and is receiving treatment at a local hospital. The police recovered six weapons and a substantial cache of ammunition, significantly weakening the gang’s operations in narcotics smuggling, arms trade, and extortion. Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating organized crime and maintaining peace across the state.
