Isolated places in the higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh received a fresh spell of snow while the lower hills witnessed intermittent rain on Thursday morning.
The Shimla Meteorological Station had on Wednesday evening issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by hail, lightning and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated locations in Chamba, Kangra and Kullu districts on March 12, 14, and 15.
Mandi and Shimla districts are expected to experience similar conditions on March 12 and 15.
According to the meteorological station, light rain or snow is likely at isolated places over the high hills of Himachal Pradesh on March 13, and light rain or snow is likely at isolated places over the mid and high hills on March 16 and 17.
Light to moderate rain or snow is expected at a few locations over the mid and high hills, and at isolated places over the low hills and the plains of the state on March 11, 12 and 14, the meteorological station said.
