New Delhi, April 11
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will visit Paris and Berlin from April 12 to 14 for high-level discussions aimed at strengthening ties with France and Germany, the foreign ministry said on Saturday. In Paris, Misri will co-chair Foreign Office Consultations with Martin Briens, covering areas including defence, civil nuclear energy, space, cyber and digital cooperation, artificial intelligence and innovation, along with regional and global developments.
He will then travel to Berlin for similar consultations with Géza Andreas von Geyr. Talks there are expected to focus on trade and investment, defence and security, technology, green energy, development cooperation and education, as well as broader geopolitical issues. The foreign secretary is also scheduled to meet other senior officials during his visit to both countries.
The trip follows recent visits to India by Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron earlier this year, and comes as part of ongoing high-level engagement between India and Europe.
Officials said the visit would provide an opportunity to review bilateral relations and advance cooperation across key sectors.
