Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has said the state government’s Schools of Eminence are playing a major role in reshaping the future of young people in Punjab by providing high-quality education and modern learning facilities.

Speaking to students at a School of Eminence in Adampur on Tuesday, Mann described education as the most powerful tool to eliminate poverty and social inequality.

He said the government was building world-class institutions so that talented students from every corner of Punjab could get opportunities to succeed.

According to Mann, the Schools of Eminence were established to bring a “revolution” in the education sector. He said the hi-tech campuses were equipped with modern facilities aimed at helping students excel in different fields.

The chief minister also rejected the idea that financial concessions alone could end poverty.
“Education is the only key that can pull people out of the vicious circle of poverty and raise their standard of living,” he said.

He urged students to remain focused and committed to their goals, encouraging them to work hard and keep improving their skills.

Using a metaphor, Mann told students to become “grass-rooters” rather than “parachuters”.
He said grass-rooters rise from the ground through dedication and effort, while parachuters fall back to the ground after descending from above.

Mann also advised students to remain humble despite their achievements and stressed that success comes only through consistent hard work.

He said the government would continue supporting young people by improving education standards and providing opportunities to help them realise their ambitions.

Highlighting the state’s legacy, Mann said Punjab was known not only as India’s food bowl but also for its courage, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. He added that the state’s history and heritage should inspire young people to succeed.

The chief minister compared the role of the government to an airport runway that allows planes to take off smoothly. In the same way, he said, the government aims to provide the platform that enables young people to achieve their dreams.
