Early trends: BJP-led alliance to retain power in Maharashtra

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance appeared poised to retain power in Maharashtra, securing leads in 222 out of 288 assembly seats as of 11 am on Saturday. The alliance surpassed the majority threshold, ensuring its continued governance in the state. Vote counting for the November 20 assembly elections began at 8 a.m., with Maharashtra recording a voter turnout of 66%, up from 61% in 2019.

Meanwhile, the JMM-led INDIA bloc was leading in 49 of the 81 Assembly seats in Jharkhand, while the BJP-led NDA held an advantage in 30 seats, according to the trends.
