Chandigarh, April 7

After weeks of speculation over her political future, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, has announced the launch of a new political outfit, saying it aims to offer an alternative vision rooted in justice, peace and public service.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Dr Navjot said the new platform had been in the making for some time and was shaped by what she described as a close assessment of the performance of political leaders across the country.

She described the initiative as a “new alternative” at the national level, intended to give people what they “truly deserve and expect.” Although she did not disclose the full organisational structure or electoral plans, the announcement marks her formal entry into a new political project outside the mainstream framework.

Dr Navjot said the move had been guided by what she called a “divine intervention”, bringing together like-minded individuals with the confidence, courage and determination to work across different states. According to her, the group shares a common goal of promoting justice and peace, and seeks to work through what she described as the “energy of higher consciousness”.

She said the new outfit wanted to help create a politics shaped by compassion, liberty and moral responsibility, rather than power struggles or outside influence.

Focusing on Punjab, Dr Navjot said the state should reclaim what she called its “long lost glory” and return to being a “Golden State”. She said the aim was to build a Punjab where people could live with dignity, freedom and a sense of shared purpose, while pursuing social harmony and spiritual growth.

She also described her vision as one of a government “of the people, for the people and by the people of Punjab”, adding that the new outfit hoped to address public hurt and disillusionment by walking what she called the path of truth and love.
