Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Delhi elections, with 15 promises centered on welfare schemes, job creation, and infrastructure improvements. The key pledges include a robust job creation program for Delhi residents, ₹2,100 monthly aid for women under the Mahila Samman Yojana, and free healthcare for senior citizens through the Sanjeevani Yojana. Kejriwal also vowed to waive outstanding ‘hiked’ water bills and ensure a 24/7 supply of clean drinking water. Commitments to clean the Yamuna River, upgrade Delhi’s roads to global standards, and revamp the sewage system were highlighted. Kejriwal also promised scholarships for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students to study abroad under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Scholarship Yojana and offers free bus rides with 50 percent metro fare discounts for male students.
Other promises he highlighted include ₹18,000 monthly financial aid for priests and Gurudwara Granthis, extending free electricity and water benefits to tenants, and financial assistance for auto and cab drivers. Families would receive ₹1 lakh for daughters’ weddings and ₹10 lakh in insurance coverage and resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) would be funded to hire security guards and improve neighborhood safety, he further informed.
Kejriwal assured that AAP’s existing welfare programs, which provide ₹25,000 in monthly benefits per household, would continue if the party retains power. He accused the BJP of planning to halt these schemes, warning of financial burdens on residents if the opposition succeeds. “These elections are not just about promises but a choice between continuation of AAP’s welfare model and the BJP’s alternative approach,” Kejriwal said.
