Shimla, May 22

The Congress party will hold a Jai Hind Rally in Shimla on 30 May to honour the armed forces. The event will take place at Chaura Maidan and will be attended by senior leaders, including party in-charge Rajni Patil, former Union Minister Ajay Maken, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, state ministers, MLAs, and party workers.

Sharing details, Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, said that the rally is being held to recognise the bravery shown by Indian soldiers during recent military operations against Pakistan. He said the Congress is organising similar rallies across the country to boost the morale of the armed forces.

“This is not about taking political credit,” Chauhan told reporters. “The Indian Army belongs to the nation, and no political party should claim ownership of its success.” The announcement comes as the BJP continues to hold Tiranga Yatras (tricolour marches) nationwide in the aftermath of India-Pakistan tensions.

The Congress said it would hold Jai Hind Rallies in all districts of Himachal Pradesh following the Shimla event.
