Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday urged youth to seek opportunities in Punjab rather than moving abroad, citing cases of reverse migration. He mentioned a couple returning from Canada to take government jobs and a man canceling his overseas plans after securing employment. After distributing appointment letters to 497 youth for government jobs, Punjab Chief Minister highlighted his administration’s employment drive that has benefited 50,892 families in nearly three years. At an event at Municipal Bhawan, Mann said the new hires would contribute to Punjab’s socio-economic development. The latest appointments include positions in the Water Supply and Sanitation, School Education, Higher Education, Rural Development, and Environment departments.

Mann claimed his government had provided jobs based purely on merit, without corruption or nepotism, and criticized opposition parties for failing to do the same. He said not a single appointment had been legally challenged, demonstrating a transparent recruitment process. Cabinet ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Tarunpreet Singh Sondh attended the event, along with senior officials.
