Rs 3126 crore allocated for Punjab

The Union Government has released tax devolution of ₹1,73,030 crore to state governments today, as against the devolution of ₹89,086 crore in December 2024, the Finance Ministry said. A higher amount is being devolved this month to enable states to accelerate capital spending and finance their development and welfare-related expenditures. Among the top recipients, Uttar Pradesh has been allocated ₹31,039.84 crore, followed by Bihar with ₹17,403.36 crore, and Maharashtra receiving ₹10,930.31 crore while Punjab allocated Rs 3126 crore. Other significant amounts include ₹13,017.06 crore for West Bengal, ₹10,426.78 crore for Rajasthan, and ₹7,057.89 crore for Tamil Nadu. The total funds vary across states, with smaller allocations for states like Goa and Sikkim.
