On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, the doors of the revered Brajeshwari Mata Temple in Kangra opened at 4 am, drawing a large number of devotees early in the morning. Long queues of devotees were seen outside the temple as chants of hymns and slogans in praise of the goddess echoed across the premises.

The administration and police made elaborate arrangements to manage the heavy rush and ensure smooth darshan for devotees.

Temple priest Sadan Sharma said that with the beginning of the auspicious Chaitra Shukla Paksha, a significant number of devotees have been visiting the temple since early morning. “During Navratri, the temple doors open at 4 am, and a huge crowd is witnessed throughout the festival,” he said, adding that devotees from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab visit the temple in large numbers during this period.

Rishal Yadav, a devotee from Uttar Pradesh, said he was visiting the temple for the first time and had a fulfilling darshan experience. He appreciated the arrangements made by the administration. “The weather was bad in the morning, but it has now cleared. A large number of devotees are visiting the temple. I prayed for peace and prosperity,” he said.
