A joint operation by Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab Police led to the arrest of Lajar Masih, an active operative of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Pakistan’s ISI, from the Kokhraj area of Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh, the Punjab Police said.
Masih, a resident of Kurlian village in Amritsar, Punjab, was reportedly working under Germany-based BKI operative Swaran Singh, also known as Jeevan Fauji, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Singh is a key associate of Pakistan-based BKI mastermind Harwinder Rinda and U.S.-based BKI operative Happy Passian.
“A significant cache of arms and explosives, including hand grenades and a foreign-made pistol, has been recovered from Lajar Masih. He is wanted in multiple criminal cases in Punjab,” Yadav said.
The DGP added that the operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police to national security. “We remain vigilant and dedicated to neutralizing terrorist networks and ensuring the safety and security of citizens,” he said.
