Punjab’s State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Mohali has busted a key terror module linked to Pakistan-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative Harvinder Singh, alias Rinda. The crackdown, based on intelligence inputs, led to the arrest of three individuals allegedly backed by Pakistan’s ISI, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday.

Among those arrested are Jagjit Singh, alias Jaggi, a resident of Nanded, Maharashtra, who is a co-accused in multiple criminal cases; Shubham Khelbude from Bandghat of Nanded and Gurdeep Singh, alias Deepa, from Ropar district of Punjab, who allegedly provided shelter and logistical support to the operatives, the Punjab DGP wrote in his post on X previously known as twitter.

According to investigators, Jaggi played a crucial role in facilitating logistics, coordinating safehouses, and aiding the shooters involved in the February 10, 2025, Nanded murder, which was orchestrated by Rinda from across the border. Police have also uncovered the involvement of jailed gangster Dilpreet, alias Baba, an old associate of Rinda, who allegedly arranged safe shelters for the accused in Punjab.

The Police have seized a .32 bore pistol with eight live cartridges and a 12-bore pump-action gun with 15 live rounds. Officials said the operation has dealt a major blow to a well-organized terror and crime network spanning multiple states.

A case has been registered at SSOC police station in Mohali, and further investigations are underway. Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling such inter-state terror syndicates and safeguarding national security.
