Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who was hospitalised after being unwell for the past two to three days, is “doing better” but has been advised by doctors to stay in hospital for another two to three days, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said on Saturday.

“Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was ill for the past two to three days, and he was hospitalised last night. We met him at the hospital, and he is currently fine. Doctors have advised him to stay in the hospital for 2-3 more days. He will provide compensation to the people affected by floods,” said  Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema after meeting the Chief Minister. “He will provide compensation to people affected by floods,” Finance Minister Cheema ,

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia also met the Chief Minister and told reporters that Chief Minister Mann had been unwell due to an electrolyte imbalance. He was initially treated at home before his condition worsened when his pulse rate dropped, prompting his hospitalisation. “Though his health is improving, he is expected to remain under medical supervision for a couple more days,” Sisodia said.

He added that Mann remained focused on the state’s flood crisis despite being hospitalised. “The Chief Minister said he will hold meetings with officials from the hospital to provide relief to those affected,” Sisodia said.

The AAP confirmed that Mann had been ill for two days before his admission, with doctors recommending hospital care after his condition failed to improve.
