The Roja star steps into the uniform as Major Srinivasan in a powerful tale of courage and hope
Veteran actor Arvind Swami, known for redefining on-screen charisma and sensitivity in both Tamil and Hindi cinema, is all set to portray a commanding new avatar. The celebrated performer has officially joined the cast of Anupam Kher’s directorial venture Tanvi The Great as Major Srinivasan, a pivotal character in the much-anticipated film.
The actor’s intense character poster was recently unveiled, creating a buzz among fans and cinephiles alike. Swami joins a stellar ensemble cast featuring Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, and Shubhangi, all of whom are set to bring Anupam Kher’s emotional vision to life.
Sharing his thoughts on the project, Arvind Swami said:
“It was such a pleasure to work with Anupam as a director. This subject is so close to his heart and I am glad that I could play a small part in this project. Anupam Kher also expressed his admiration for Swami, revealing the personal connection that led to the casting:
“First time I saw #ArvindSwamy in Roja and I was blown away by the young and dynamic actor’s performance. Then of course I watched him in the film Bombay. And for me, that was the arrival of a unique actor on the Indian film’s horizon… So there was nobody else that came to my mind when I wanted to cast an actor for the role of #MajorSrinivasan for #TanviTheGreat…”
Kher further described Swami’s performance as one that evokes the same pride and reassurance as the Indian Army itself, calling the character of Major Srini “a powerhouse of strength, courage and bravery.”
With music by Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani, and backed by Anupam Kher Studios, NFDC, and Lower Middle Class Corporation, Tanvi The Great promises to be an emotionally stirring film rooted in resilience and humanity.
