Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged NCRB to ensure the full integration of the new laws into ICJS 2.0, advocating for the use of applications like eSakshya, Nyaya Shruti, eSign, and eSummons across all states and Union Territories. He highlighted the importance of using technology to generate alerts at key stages of criminal cases to expedite investigations, benefiting victims and complainants during a review meeting in New Delhi on the progress of implementing three new criminal laws, with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) officials. The session focused on the integration of key systems, including CCTNS 2.0, NAFIS, and the alignment of prisons, courts, prosecution, and forensics with ICJS 2.0 at the national level.
The Home Minister also called for increased adoption of these technological initiatives, encouraging regular interactions with senior police officers to monitor progress in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and ICJS. He recommended the use of biometric technology to identify unidentified bodies and persons. Shah praised NCRB’s efforts in implementing the new criminal laws and the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS).
