Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday declared the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory in the Delhi assembly elections as the end of “lies, arrogance, and anarchy,” crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the outcome. “This is a victory of ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ and the faith of Delhiites in Modiji’s vision of development,” Shah said. “Under Modiji’s leadership, BJP is committed to fulfilling all promises and making Delhi the number one capital in the world.”
Shah said Delhi voters had rejected what he called false promises and poor governance by AAP, citing issues such as the state of the Yamuna River, water supply, roads, sewage systems, and liquor policy.
“Delhiites have shown that the public cannot be misled by repeated false promises,” Shah wrote in his post on X previously known as Twitter. “They have voted against dirty water, broken roads, and liquor shops in every street,” he further said.
Congratulating BJP workers, party chief J.P. Nadda, and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Shah said the people had chosen the BJP to improve living conditions, address unauthorized colonies, and promote self-employment.
He also framed the BJP’s victory as a warning to other opposition parties, calling it “the beginning of a new era of development and trust in Delhi.”
“Delhi has worked to make the city ‘Aapda-free’ by dismantling the ‘Sheeshmahal’ of lies, deceit, and corruption,” he said.
