An Air India flight bound for London was crashed during take-off at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Wednesday. The flight, which had 242 passengers on board, was grounded and all safety protocols were activated. According to initial reports from local media in Gujarat, the incident occurred during routine pre-departure procedures, prompting a rapid emergency response from fire and rescue teams.
The Gujarat Samachar reported that more than five fire tenders from the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services deployed after the crash. “A team of over five fire vehicles from various city divisions has reached the location. Fire control measures are being carried out as a precaution,” a senior fire official said. The extent of the damage to the aircraft and the cause of the incident remain unclear.
