Punjab bypolls: AAP wins 3 seats, Congress 1

In Gidderbaha, Hardeep Singh Dimpy of the Congress defeated Amrita Warring, wife of Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, by 21,969 votes. Former Punjab Finance Minister and BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal came in third. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured victory in three out of four seats in the Punjab bypolls while the Congress managed to win one seat on Saturday.
AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa won the Dera Baba Nanak seat, defeating Congress candidate Jatinder Kaur, wife of Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, by 5,699 votes. In Chabbewal, AAP’s Ishank Kumar Chabbewal defeated Congress nominee Ranjit Kumar by 28,690 votes.
Congress clinched a narrow win in Barnala, where Kuldeep Singh Dhillon defeated AAP’s Harinder Singh Dhaliwal by 2,157 votes.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lauded the bypoll results, attributing AAP’s success to its commitment to development. “Under @ArvindKejriwal’s leadership, AAP is achieving new heights nationwide. We remain dedicated to delivering on every promise made during the bypolls,” Mann posted on X.
