Chandigarh, November 11
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday announced that the state government will hold a ‘Pensioner Sewa Mela’ across all district treasury offices from November 13 to 15. The initiative aims to help state government pensioners complete their mandatory e-KYC process and register on the newly launched Pensioner Sewa Portal, a digital platform designed to streamline pension-related services. He said the portal, launched on November 3, provides a one-stop solution for pensioners to manage their records, submit life certificates, and access other essential services online. “All pensioners are invited to visit their nearest district treasury office during the Mela to register and experience seamless digital pension services,” he said. The portal — https://pensionersewa.punjab.gov.in — currently offers six major services. These include the submission of digital life certificates via the Jeevan Pramaan mobile app, applications for family pension conversion, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), pension-related grievances, and updating personal details. The Jeevan Pramaan app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Explaining the process, Cheema said pensioners can register using Aadhaar-based e-KYC on the portal and then access services from home using their mobile phones, laptops, or personal computers. They can also visit Sewa Kendras, Pension Disbursing Banks, or District Treasury Offices for assistance.
To address any technical or service-related grievances after the launch, the government has established a War Room at the Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, Pension and New Pension Scheme. Three helpline numbers — 18001802148, 01722996385, and 01722996386 — are operational from 9 AM to 5 PM on all working days to assist pensioners.
