The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda, has laid the foundation stone for the party’s new Himachal Pradesh state office in Majthai, near Shimla, party officials said.

The ceremony was held near DAV School on Airport Road, where Nadda took part in a traditional prayer ritual lasting around 45 minutes, accompanied by Vedic chants. He later unveiled the foundation plaque for the proposed building.

During a site inspection, the BJP’s state president, Rajeev Bindal, briefed Nadda on the design and layout of the office complex. Party leaders said discussions also focused on organisational requirements and the future use of the facility.

Senior BJP figures described the new office as a step towards strengthening the party’s organisational structure in the hill state. Nadda later interacted informally with party workers, underlining the role of cadre-based mobilisation ahead of future political programmes.

The event was attended by state in-charge Shrikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, former Union minister Anurag Thakur, organisational general secretary Siddharthan and several other senior leaders and workers.

Earlier in the day, Nadda visited the residence of Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in Shimla to convey his greetings on the wedding of Agnihotri’s daughter, Dr Aastha Agnihotri.
